Our recording studio, The Jazz Kitchen, in Burlington, Ontario, is rapidly becoming known for quality productions at a reasonable price. As musicians ourselves, we want to reflect the passion and fire of your music in the final recorded product. The cleanliness of even the mp3’s of our music and those of our clients played on this site and others will indicate the quality of our equipment and recording technique. The heart of our studio is the recording program Reaper, an RME-800 firewire interface and a 2.4 GHz, dual core Music XPC S3 computer with 2G of RAM and four hard drives totaling 1.2 Terabytes of storage. We also use AKG and Audio-Technica mics to achieve clean, quality tracks. In addition to Reaper, software includes Soundforge, iZotope and CD Architect. More than 250 payware plug-ins provide a wide variety of equalizers, compressors, limiters, autotuners, reverbs and many other effects. With this state-of-the-art hardware and software combination, we can take your project from a dream to a final mastered "red-book" CD suitable for replication or duplication.
Our rates for recording are highly competitive and can make your project more economically feasible. We can provide much of the musical gear if needed as well as arrangements, back-up vocals and instrumentals, all at very reasonable rates. We prefer working with singer/songwriters or smaller groups (single to trios.) We provide on-location recording if requested. We also provide musical scores for film and television and other commissioned pieces. Try our recently added service of audio restoration. We can take out the clicks, scratches and hiss from all of your old but dearly loved cassettes, LP's, 45's or even 78 rpm vinyl and transfer to pristine new CD's. Please contact us for a quotation on any of these services.
